<p>Kurobe Ramen is easy to find. It's located in the basement of the building next to First Kitchen that's near the Roppongi crossing. I first noticed the existance of this ramen restaurant several months back but it wasn't until now did I decide to give it a shot. The hibachi grilled chashuu had always looked intriguing.</p>

<p>This is the menu at the front of the store. The lunch and dinner menus are actually different. They have set meals during lunch, but you don't get to mess around with the mini-hibachi. I personally prefer the dinner menu. They also have a rather extensive otsumami (with items such as Karaage!) and drinks menu.</p>

<p>I highly recommend the "kurobe special", you get a 4 slices of chashuu, 2 pieces of togarashi, 2 pieces of negi, menma and an "aji tsuke han juku tamago". The half boiled egg is prepared to perfection, with just the right amount of flavour permeating the egg white and the golden yolk is of a creamy texture. The fact that you get to broil your own chashuu makes the meal more interesting.</p>

<p>The "shoyu" taste soup is unlike most ramen outlets. It is not too salty, and they use various citrus rinds to give the soup a tangy refreshing overtone.</p>

<p>In summary, Kurobe ramen is one of my new favourites and I can see myself going back again to try the rest of the items on the menu!<br />

<p>Gogyou is located in one of the back streets of the Nishi Azabu, in fact it's right in front of the US military barracks in Nishi Azabu. </p>

<p>Other than kogashi shoyu and kogashi miso ramen, they also serve tsuke men and shio ramen. Other side dishes include chashu donburi (roast pork rice bowl).</p>

<p>Both the kogashi shoyu and kogashi miso have a hint of something being charred, which I personally find to be wonderfully delectable.  The chunks of ginger in the soup also lend extra flavor. The chashu is tender and tasty as well.</p>

<p>Also good is the menma topping, thick slices of bamboo shoots marinated in soy sauce, sugar and mirin. Gogyou has it down to almost perfection.</p>

<p>I highly recommend all ramen lovers to give Gogyou a visit. However, due to the popularity of this place, expect long lines during lunch,dinner or late hours (after clubbing hours).</p>

      <![CDATA[<p>I didn't go the first time I saw it as I was just on the way home from some cheap and not bad Chinese restaurant near the station but last weekend we checked it out and it's pretty good!  If you want an American size burger get the jumbo, around 1200yen and pig out.</p>

<p>This particular one was really small.  Room for only about 8 people.  But it turns out there is one closer to the station that is larger.  You can find it on the link below.  Also, while I was looking to see if they had a homepage I found a page that <a href="http://www.sasebo99.com/sight/2003-08/index_hbm.htm">lists a lot of affiliated burger joints</a>.  Looks like we have more places to check out.</p>
